!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale miniature Remington Model 1895 .41 caliber rimfire over/under Derringer by master miniature maker Daniel Osterman of Oregon. This piece has had the proper Remington barrel rib markings laser engraved on the ribs between the barrels on each side, by me, back when I worked for Imperial Miniature Armory. I probably only marked less than six of these, so these are fairly rare! 2 7/16″ long overall with 1 7/16″ long rifled barrels. The frame, barrel, extractor, and take down lever are made from German silver, that has been polished to look like nickel. The rest of the parts are steel including the hammer, trigger, and screws. Nicely checkered black hard rubber grips. Checkered hammer spur, functional extractor. The hammer, trigger, and screws are fire blued, the sides of the hammer and trigger polished in the white. The bottom of the grip marked D.E.O.+”. The bottom of the barrel stamped with the serial number “41”. Dan only serial numbered the first 50 pieces he made. Like all of these that Dan made, this one does not have a firing pin. Complete with the original Osterman green cardboard lift top box with the Osterman label on the inside of the box lid and dark green felt lining. Mint as new condition, except the German silver has started to tarnish. German silver is essentially white brass, and does oxidize. This rare piece with the proper Remington rib markings, just need to be taken apart, the German silver parts polished, then reassembled & it will look like a million bucks, or at least $750.00 bucks, which is where I would have priced it if it hadn’t been tarnished!
