Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 47% Colt 1851 Navy revolver as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the 80’s. This miniature is the “Classic Edition” and was made by Uberti under license from Colt for the USHS. Fully functional, but non-firing. 6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ octagon rifled barrel of .17 caliber. The frame, hammer, rammer, and loading lever are case colored. The balance of the steel parts are charcoal blue. The brass triggerguard, backstrap, and bead front sight are just starting to show a touch of age patina. The top of the barrel roll stamped with the Colt barrel address. The front left of the frame marked COLT’S PATENT in two lines. 36 CAL marked at the left rear of the triggerguard. The cylinder roll stamped with the Ormsby naval battle scene. Serial number “617” stamped into the barrel lug, frame, triggerguard, & backstrap. The cylinder stamped “17”. I can identifying this revolver as a USHS, instead of a later Uberti issue by having both the factory rool stamped barrel address, the serial number marked cylinder, & no Uberti markings on the bottom of the barrel under the loading lever. While a very few Uberti issue revolvers may have had the barrel address & no Uberti markings, I have never seen one with a numbered cylinder. Someone has recased this revolver in an Imperial Miniature Armory made walnut hinged top case with miniature Colt key lock. The case is English fit, has a dust ledge, & is lined in a dark green felt. The top of the case laser etched with the “Colt” logo. Accessories include a brass legged bullet mold with blued steel sprue cutter. The mold cast both a conical & a round ball. The sprue cutter laser marked “COLT’S PATENT” in two lines. A brass powder flask featuring cannon, flags, & Paterson revolvers, a three piece brass oiler, a green label lift top cap tin, the key for the lock, and the Colts instructions label on the interior lid complete the accessories. Mint new condition. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
