Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Southerner side swing derringer single shot pistol made by a gentleman in El Paso, Texas named Mr. R. Patton. I do not know any details about Mr. Patton, but I bought several of his pieces at the recent Tulsa Gun Show from family members. I speculate if Mr. Patton may have at one time done work making miniatures for Fred Thacker in El Paso back in the day, as the pieces all look to have some age to them. 2 5/8″ long overall with a 1 9/32″ barrel of .142 caliber. Fully functional lock, with both half and full cock. Yellow brass frame, upper & grip straps. The hammer, trigger, & screws are steel finished in the white. The barrel is blued steel. Two piece walnut grips with yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the right side. Complete with the original walnut hinged top case. The interior bottom is semi French fit and unlined. The interior lid lined in a brown cloth. Also includes a cleaning rod and a screwdriver, both with walnut handles and brass ferrules. The piece shows some age, the brass with a mellow patina, and the barrel blue fading to brown. The very tip of the firing pin is bent where someone tried to open the action without first cocking the hammer to half cock. Price: $450.00. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
