Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a pair of flintlock dueling pistols cased with accessories made by Wilfred W. Stultz.  These are the first miniatures I have ever seen by Mr. Stultz.  Mr Stultz lived in Stoneville, North Carolina, & had his workshop in the rear of his home.  He was active in the 1970’s, & was a very talented craftsman in making Kentucky long rifles.  Each pistol is 6 1/8″ long overall with a smoothbore octagon barrel finished in the white.  The barrels are drilled through to the touch holes.  The front sights are short, round, flat, & made of steel finished in the white.  The lock assemblies are blued, fully functional, and have both half & full cock.  German silver nose caps, triggerguards, grip caps, and sideplates.  One piece highly figured walnut stocks.  Cased in a nicely figured walnut hinged top casing with swivel latch.  The interior bottom French fit and lined in a green felt.  The interior lid with a German silver plate marked “WILFRED W. STULTZ, MAKER”, in two lines.  Accessories include a nickel silver powder flask with brass neck, but no charging lever, a brass combination cleaning rod/ramrod. and a German silver and brass powder measure.  Mint new as made except for some minor rust pitting on the barrel tang of one pistol.  Ex.
