Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale V.C. Schilling & C.G. Haenel German model 1883 single action “Reichsrevolver” marked as made by von EBy.  von Eby is Edgar Budischwsky, Korriphila-Prazisionsmechanik, of Heidelberg, Germany.  From Wikipedia: “Edgar Budischowsky is a West German firearm designer, whose designs were produced by Korriphilia in Germany, and Norton Armament in the United States.  Among his creations were the TP-70 double-action pocket pistol in .22 and .25 calibre, based on an amalgamation of Colt and Walther designs.”  I did not know this maker, but his work is right up there with Leon Crottet & Ray Hutchens!  The attention to detail, fit, polish, and finishing are just 100% perfect!  This is the first miniature of this model revolver that I have ever seen or heard of.  This piece has been in a very advanced collection since 2007 when it was bought in a Rock Island auction.  4 15/16″ long overall with a 2 3/16″ part octagon part round rifled barrel of .191 caliber.  Machined steel construction & 100% fully functional.  The hammer has both half & full cock.  The revolver is very highly polished, and finished in a deep dark black blue except for the hammer, trigger, cylinder pin, cylinder pin spring loaded release, the pivoting safety, screws and a couple other small parts which are straw colored from heat treating.  The hammer spur is very finely checkered.  The front sides of the cylinder pin are serrated on a diagonal.  Fixed front sight and “V” notch rear sight integral with the rear of the frame.  The left side of the frame marked “V.C.S. * C.G.H., .SUHL.” in two lines surrounded by an oval.  There is a pivoting safety on the left rear of the frame that when pivoted to the down position blocks the hammer from cocking, when the hammer is down or at half cock.  The loading gate pivots at the bottom, and swings to the right like a Colt SAA.  Two piece nicely figured walnut grips with German silver escutcheons and a single screw entering from the left side.  There is a lanyard stud on the bottom of the grip with a lanyard ring.  Complete with six rounds of non-firing dummy display ammunition.  The bullets look to be polished steel.  The cartridge cases are brass with beveled heads and brass primers.  Also includes the original mahogany hinged top case with two flip down latches.  The top center of the case with a rectangular brass plaque attached by two small brass round head nails.  The plaque engraved “Deutscher Ordonnanz-Revolver, (diamond) Reichsrevolver (diamond), Mod. 1883, V.C. Schilling * C.G. Haenel, Miniatur 1:2 von EBy”.  The case interior bottom French fit and lined with a green felt with a gold rope border.  There is another rectangular brass plaque affixed to the bottom front center of the interior bottom engraved like the one on the lid, “Deutscher Ordonnanz-Revolver, (diamond) Reichsrevolver (diamond), Mod. 1883, V.C. Schilling * C.G. Haenel, Miniatur 1:2 von EBy”.  The interior lid padded and likewise lined in a green felt with a gold rope border.  The bottom of the case is recessed and lined in a black pebble grain leather, and there are small green felt circles on the corners.  A truly exceptional miniature revolver and most likely one-of-a-kind.  The revolver is in mint new as made condition.  The case does show some minor storage & handling wear.  Stock # DB-8.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
