Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a very rare 1/4 scale Remington rolling block pistol by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, made from the mid 1940’s to the Mid 1960’s. 3″ long overall with a 2″ round barrel of .092 caliber. The Remington Model 1871 pistols have a triggerguard where the 1865 Navy pistols do not, & have a spur trigger. Beautiful charcoal blue finished steel parts except for the breech block & hammer which are case colored. Ivory pistol grip & forearm. The left side of the frame hand engraved “REMINGTON’S ILION N.Y. U.S.A.” The right side of the frame hand engraved “PAT MAY 3D, NOV 15TH, 1884, APRIL 17TH, 1866”. Complete with the original Weston red cloth covered hinged top case with push button latch and an ivory handled blue cleaning/extractor rod with brass ferrule. The interior bottom lined in a brown cloth, not fitted, but you can see the impression where this miniature has been in this box for a long time. The interior lid not lined. There is an old white sticker on the bottom marked in ink “UEY-, #418” in two lines. I believe this piece will chamber & fire the 2mm rimfire blank cartridge. This piece is in excellent condition, but does show some freckling to the charcoal blue finish on the barrel and the left side of the frame. The ivory stocks are excellent. The case shows wear to the corners & edges. and some separations to the corners and edges in the rear. This is only the second one of these I have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale, the other was over 15 years ago. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
