!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an extremely rare 1/4 scale Remington 1871 Army rolling block pistol by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, made from the mid 1940’s to the Mid 1960’s. 3″ long overall with a 2″ round barrel of .092 caliber. The Remington Model 1871 pistols have a triggerguard where the 1865 Navy pistols do not, & have a spur trigger. Beautiful high polished charcoal blue finished steel parts except for the breech block & hammer which are case colored. Ivory pistol grip & forearm with a nice aged patina & grain. The left side of the frame hand engraved “REMINGTON’S ILION N.Y. U.S.A.” The right side of the frame hand engraved “PAT MAY 3D, NOV 15TH, 1884, APRIL 17TH, 1866”. Complete with the original Weston burgundy pebble grained leather covered hinged top case with push button latch, an ivory handled blue steel cleaning/extractor rod with brass ferrule, and a clear gelatin capsule containing 9 2mm rimfire blank cartridges. The interior bottom lined in a dark red velour. The interior lid lined in an off white silk which is printed in blue “WESTON’S, MADERO 13 MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, MEXICAN CRAFTS, ANTIQUES”. There are 2 old white stickers on the bottom marked in ink “1”, & “Dal”. This piece will chamber & fire the 2mm rimfire blank cartridge, a few of which are included in a clear gelatin pill capsule. This piece is in excellent condition showing 98+% original blue & case colored finish. The ivory stocks are excellent with a nice aged patina. The case shows surface wear to the top, corners & edges. This is only the third one of these I have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale, the first was over 15 years ago, the second about 4 years ago. I really can’t remember the first one, but this one is better than the one I sold 4 years ago! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
