Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a full size 5mm pinfire double action revolver by an unknown maker in Belgium, circa 1860 – 1880.  4 5/8″ long overall with a 1 7/8″ rifled octagon barrel.  The revolver is factory nickel plated, & wears a beautiful set of ivory two piece grips, with brass escutcheons, and a single screw entering from the left side.  The butt is stamped with the number 4574.  There is a number 2 stamped into the front of the trigger.  The rear of the cylinder is stamped with the number 3, ELG* in an oval, & the letter L.  Most likely these are Belgian proof marks.  The hammer spur and the top of the loading gate are checkered.  The sides of the ejector knob are serrated.  The sides of the hammer & trigger extension going up into the frame are engine turned.  The loading gate hinges at the bottom, and outward, like a Colt SAA.  The revolver can be fired either single action or double action.  Includes a really neat black leather pipe type casing with a push button latch.  Thew interior French fit, & lined in a faded purple velour.  The revolver shows several small areas with plating loss, some of which show minor pitting.  The bore is dark, but still shows strong rifling.  The ivory grips are pristine, and show a really attractive mellow aged patina.  the case shows handling wear as you would expect, and a couple small areas of finish loss.  Overall, a very attractive revolver with a really great pipe case!  Stock # LG-13.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
