Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a full size small single shot percussion derringer by an unknown maker, but most likely British.  No apparent maker’s markings, even under the grip.  3 1/2″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ round barrel of .185 caliber.  One piece brass frame & barrel with a brass top plate.  Steel hammer, trigger, & screws finished in the white.  The hammer with checkered spur & has both half & full cock.  Exposed trigger without guard.  The sides of the frame engraved with shields, flags, & banners.  The hammer also engraved in what looks to be scales representing some kind of animal or maybe fish.  One piece ivory grip showing nice grain & patina & some minor age cracks on the right side and gaps where it meets the frame due to age shrinkage.  Complete with a nice brass two leg bullet mold without sprue cutter casting a single round ball, a very nice ivory powder flask with ivory stopper, and seven properly sized lead balls in a compartment with a walnut lid & ivory knob.  Includes a nice walnut hinged top case with flip latch.  The top with an inlaid round ivory escutcheon.  The interior English fit & lined in a green cloth.  The case bottom lined in the same green cloth.  This piece probably dates to the early to mid 1800’s.  Excellent condition, the brass showing some minor aged patina.  The accessories & case also excellent.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
