Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale single shot flintlock pocket or muff pistol cased set by David Bradbury in England. 3 5/8″ long overall with a 13/16″ round steel fluted barrel. The frame, pan, and bottom tang are made of one piece of yellow brass. The top tang, which reaches just forward of the hammer is also yellow brass. Both sides of the frame with border engraving & shields, flags, & lances. The top tang, hammer sides, and triggerguard bow modestly engraved as well. The balance of the metal parts are steel and are finished in a beautiful charcoal “blue” blue. The hammer has both half & full cock. Slab sided one piece nicely figured rosewood grip. Accessories include a functional leather covered brass powder flask, an ebony handled turnscrew with the blade finished in the white, the steel barrel wrench finished in the charcoal blue, an ebony handled brass cleaning rod, & a steel two leg bullet mold without sprue cutter. The hinged top case looks to be rosewood with a key lock with brass escutcheon, no key included. There is a rectangular brass escutcheon inlaid into the middle of the case lid. The interior is English fit & lined in a dark green felt. There is a lid with ivory knob on the compartment at the right front corner. Excellent condition, the left side of the barrel, the turnscrew blade, and the barrel wrench showing some minor surface oxidation. A really beautiful little set with deluxe accessories! I have been informed by Mr. Bradbury that he made the pistol only & someone else since has put the case & accessories together. Stock # BF-49. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
