Project Description
!!!!!PRICE REDUCED!!!!! This is a 2/5 scale 1777 French flintlock martial pistol by an unknown maker. Very similar to the U. S. 1799 North & Chaney flintlock martial pistol, the big difference is the French pistol has the belt hook on the left side where the North & Chaney does not. 5 1/4″” long overall with a 2 31/32″ smoothbore barrel of about .273 caliber. I at first thought this was made by Robin Armstrong, the workmanship, fit, & finish are that good, but it is slightly larger than Robin’s usual 1/3 scale. Unfortunately this highly skilled maker did not mark or sign his work. I have disassembled the pistol looking for a maker’s mark, and there are no markings of any kind, but the quality is readily apparent. Steel barrel, trigger, ramrod, frizzen, frizzen spring, hammer, belt hook, and screws are finished in the white. Yellow brass frame, pan, triggerguard, and buttcap. The hammer has both half and full cock. Straight grain one piece American walnut stock. Near mint condition showing only the most minor signs of handling. Stock # BF-46. Price Reduced: $1,350.00.
