Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a beautifully made 2/5 or 40% scale DWM Borchardt semi-automatic pistol by an unknown, but obviously very skilled miniature firearms maker, & most likely one-of-a-kind.  5 5/32″ long overall with a 2 5/8″ rifled barrel of .138″ diameter.  Machined steel construction with the exception of the rosewood shoulder stock, two piece checkered grips, magazine hold open, & magazine bottom.  Sheet steel magazine body.  The barrel, frame, & most parts are blued.  Some of the smaller parts are straw finished or finished in the white.  The right side of the slide stamped “SYSTEM BORCHARDT. PATENT, DEUTSCHE WAFFEN – UND MUNITIONS FABRIKEN., BERLIN.” in three lines.  No other visible markings.  Checkered magazine release, checkered wood magazine bottom sides, serrated safety lever.  The piece is fully functional, or would be if not for the broken recoil spring.  When cocked you can hear the hammer click, & the safety is functional.  Because of the broken recoil spring, when the action is cocked, the toggle sticks up, but will go back into position once the trigger is pulled.  Accessories include the detachable shoulder stock, the magazine hold open which contains an oiler & two tools, and a nice nickel plated oiler.  Cased in a vintage hinged top key lock (no key) rosewood case.  The case top with an inlaid rectangular brass escutcheon.  The interior French fit & lined in a dark red felt.  The bottom has a rectangular white sticker from the Whichard collection marked in blue ink “Stock No. 186, Gene Pope Collection.  Priced accordingly.  This would easily be worth $2,500.00 if repaired.  Ex Gene Pope, Kennith Whichard, & Bruce Feinberg collections.  Stock # BF-51.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
