!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/4 scale steel black powder muzzle loading cannon or howitzer barrel by an unknown maker. 9 7/8″ long overall with a .60 caliber bore that is bored through to the touch hole. The barrel is tapered measuring 2.19″ in diameter at the largest diameter at the rear and 1.687″ at the muzzle. There are six cast in reinforcing bands. The trunions measure .320″ in diameter, & are 1/2″ long. The barrel weighs a tad over 7 1/2 pounds. The barrel is brown, & covered in a thin layer of surface rust, but can be easily cleaned & polished, or better yet, finished turned on a lathe. Very well made, & would make a great winter project for someone who has the skills to make a carriage. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
