Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/4 scale miniature Mexican Mauser by an unknown maker, but possibly from Tom Weston’s shop in Mexico City, Mexico or Fred Thacker’s shop in El Paso, Texas. 8 1/2″ long overall with a 4 13/16″ barrel. 10 5/8″ long overall including the bayonet. Machined steel & sheet steel construction finished in the white. Two piece walnut stock & handguard. Walnut bayonet handles secured by two rivets. Brown leather sling with sheet steel fittings. This is a crude piece, really more folk art, and not a high quality miniature. The bolt handle is spring loaded and the front of the bolt has a very long fixed firing pin. You can retract the bolt & bring it back to a notch at the rear of the action. The barrel has another inner barrel that retracts when the bolt is retracted. I’m guessing you retract the bolt, muzzle load some kind of projectile into the barrel, then retract the bolt & let it go shooting the projectile. The bayonet is 3 5/8″ long with a 2 1/8″ spear point blade and is friction fit. Priced accordingly. Stock # BK-76. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
