Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/4 scale triangular socket bayonet for an unknown rifle by an unknown maker, but my best guess is this was made by J. M. Hick. This bayonet is very similar to the one included with a J. M. Hick 1/4 scale British Brown Bess musket I currently have for sale, though it is just a tad larger. By looks, it could be for any of the early U.S. muskets or rifled muskets from the late 1700’s to the 1880’s Indian war 1873 Springfields. Could also possibly be for a British Brown Bess or Enfield rifled musket or rifle. 5 13/32″ long overall, the blade itself is 4 17/32″ long. The bore of the socket is straight, not tapered, and measures 1/4″. The bayonet is steel, and finished in the white as most were. There are some minor marks in the very tip of the bayonet where it is very slightly bent, otherwise, it is pristine new. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
