Project Description
This is a 1/2 scale World War I German artillery Luger with shoulder stock, case, & accessories by an unknown maker. The pistol is 6 3/8″ long overall with a 3 7/8″ rifled round barrel of .175 caliber. Fully functional. The pistol is made of machined steel with checkered walnut grips. The two magazine bodies are sheet steel with machined followers, checkered thumb depressor, and walnut bottoms. The pistol has a black blue finish, except for some of the small parts which are properly straw colored. The serial number “7841” is stamped into the left front of the slide, the bottom rear of the barrel, the front of the frame, & the wood bottom of both magazines. “41” is stamped into the left side plate, the rear of the toggle mechanism, & the takedown lever. The top center part of the toggle stamped with the intertwined “DWM” logo and “41”. The top front of the frame stamped “1918”. The long range rear sight has the distance graduation markings & is dovetailed into the barrel, as is the front sight. The sides of the toggles, the magazine release, the button part of the takedown lever, the magazine follower button, and the rear sight push button very finely checkered. The thumb part of the safety is serrated. The slide properly locks back on an empty magazine. Complete with the original walnut shoulder stock with steel fittings finished in the white, a spare loose P-08 round rifled barrel measuring 1 15/16″ long, a steel cleaning rod finished in the white with an oiler at the base, the outside of the removable cap checkered, and the typical Luger take down tool. All the above in the original hinged top walnut case with two swivel latches, no latches. The interior French fit & lined in a burgundy felt. The pistol, magazine, and takedown tool show 50% original black blue with the balance turning a nice soft gray/brown patina, & may have been finished this way on purpose to show age. The cleaning rod is mint new. The case is nice, but does show some minor handling marks & wear. Price: $3,500.00.
