Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 2/5 or 40% scale World War I German artillery Luger with shoulder stock, case, & accessories by an unknown maker.  The pistol is 5 1/8″ long overall with a 3 1/16″ rifled barrel of .138 caliber.  The pistol is made of machined steel with checkered walnut grips.  The magazine body is sheet steel with machined follower, checkered thumb depressor, and walnut bottom.  The pistol has a black blue finish, except for some of the small parts which are properly straw colored.  The serial number “02” is stamped into the rear part of the toggle mechanism.  The top center part of the toggle stamped with the likeness of a crown and “ERFURT”.  The top front of the frame stamped “1918”.  The long range rear sight has the distance graduation markings.  The sides of the toggles, the magazine release, the button part of the takedown lever, the magazine follower button, and the rear sight push button very finely checkered.  The outside of the magazine toggles and the thumb part of the safety are are serrated.  Complete with the original walnut shoulder stock with steel fittings and a leather attachment at the butt, a walnut handled cleaning rod, and the typical Luger take down tool.  All the above in the original hinged top mahogany case with two swivel latches.  The interior French fit & unlined.  There are holes for 40 cartridges, which makes me think that this piece was originally made with 40 firing miniature cartridges.  There would be no need to furnish that many dummy cartridges.  The pistol, magazine, and takedown tool show 98+% original black blue.  The fittings on the shoulder stock look to have been finished in the white.  The extractor is missing, as is the small pin that holds it in place, an easy repair for a competent gunsmith.  The cleaning rod is mint new.  The case is near mint.  A great miniature artillery Luger in one of the smaller scales.  I am pretty sure I sold this piece about 10 years ago, but can not verify that because of the data I lost when my website was hacked about 5 years ago.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
