Project Description
!!!!!PRICE REDUCED!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale wheellock ball butt pistol by an unknown maker. 9 1/16:” long overall with a 5 7/8″ part octagon part round smoothbore barrel of .188 caliber. This is really a very nice piece with excellent workmanship, fit, & finish! Most of the metal parts are machined steel finished in the white. The wheel cover, the thumb piece just in front of it, and the inlay at the rear of the ball butt are brass. The stock looks to be ebony, but is really a lighter wood stained to look that way, & has numerous bone, not ivory, inlays & overlays. The barrel has some light engraving, and is very lightly marked “1597” on the rear top flat. The bone parts are lightly engraved also. The interior of the lock is just as impressive and the exterior. There is an engraved steel band at the juncture of the stock & the ball butt that has split. The triggerguard screw may be a replacement as it extends well past the barrel tang. Wheellocks are very complicated & difficult to make, even in full size, and you seldom see one in miniature. Price Reduced: $1,000.00.
