Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% scale Colt Single Action Army revolver with the 4 3/4″ barrel made by Uberti in Italy.  4 3/4″ long overall with a 2 3/16″ rifled barrel of .21 caliber.  Standard blue and case colored finish.  Nicely figured one piece rosewood grip.  Black powder frame with the round “Bullseye” ejector rod button, the early “Pinched Frame” topstrap, and the cylinder pin held in place by a screw.  The left front of the frame stamped with the Colt patent dates in two lines.  The left rear of the triggerguard stamped with the “.45 CAL” markings.  Checkered hammer spur.  Early serial number 1065 stamped into the frame & triggerguard.   65 stamped into the loading gate hinge.  The cylinder is not numbered as is usual for serial numbers over 999.  The backstrap is stamped 434, and is engraved and gold wire inlaid.  I don’t know if this is a factory error, or something that was put together after the fact, but it is dang sure unusual.  The only reason I can come up with for someone doing this is that IMA, through Roberto Hinze, made some gold & silver Tiffany style grips back in the day, which would eliminate the backstrap.  So someone might have taken one of those extra backstraps & swapped in onto this revolver.   The top of the barrel factory roll stamped with the one line italics barrel address.  The bottom of the barrel without the usual Uberti factory roll stamp markings.  Nickel silver front sight.  Mint new condition except for the backstrap aberration.  It does make for a very interesting & pretty revolver!  Priced accordingly with no extra charge for the engraving or gold wire inlays and a modest discount.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
