Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 47% scale Colt single action revolver made by A. Uberti in Italy. Fully functional, but non-firing. 6″ long overall with a 3 7/16″ rifled barrel. Features include blue and case colored finish, smokeless powder frame, oval ejector rod button, a spring loaded plunger secured ejector rod, and the later frame top sighting grooved top strap. There are no caliber or patent date markings. Serial number 3419 stamped into the frame, & trigger guard. 419 stamped into the bottom of the backstrap. No Uberti markings on the bottom of the barrel. Beautifully figured one piece walnut grips with an oil finish. What is really interesting about this piece is the yellow brass triggerguard and backstrap. This is one of the highest serial numbers I have ever seen. I suspect that at the very end of production, they ran out of steel triggerguards & backstraps that should have been used, and substituted the brass triggerguards & backstraps from the 1860 Army percussion revolvers which are virtually the same. Yes, speculation on my part, but it does make sense! Anyway, this is an extremely rare Uberti factory variation for those who like such things. Mint condition except for some small handling marks on the grips. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
