Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is almost exactly the same as a “Classic Edition” United States Historical Society 47% scale miniature Colt 1860 Army revolver, except it is what is called the “four screw frame”, and comes with the detachable shoulder stock. The revolver is 6 1/2″ long overall with a 3 23/32″ round rifled barrel. With the shoulder stock attached the overall length is 12 9/16″. Fully functional, but non-firing. Charcoal blue and case colored finish with factory two piece ivory grips with an aluminum center spacer. The ivory with a nice grain & patina. Factory roll marked barrel address, .44 Cal marked triggerguard, the front left of the frame marked “COLT’S, PATENT” in two lines. Roll engraved cylinder with the Ormsby naval sailing ship battle scene. Serial number 100 stamped into the bottom of the barrel lug, the bottom front of the frame, the bottom front of the triggerguard, the bottom of the backstrap, the side of the cylinder, and the top of the buttplate. The detachable stock has a yellow brass yoke, and buttplate, with charcoal blue hardware. The shoulder stock wood is a nice piece of nicely figured rosewood. Excellent near mint condition with only a couple of tiny hairline scratches on the side of the hammer from friction with the frame. This miniature was made by Uberti, probably for the USHS, under license from Colt, in the mid 80’s. This was likely one of a short prototype run. I have seen about ten of these over the last 30 odd years, and about half had fluted cylinders with no cylinder scene. I think, for whatever reason, they decided not to offer them to their clientele. Unlike most of the other Uberti miniature Colt revolvers, which were made until about 2008, these miniature 1860 Colt revolvers have not been made in over 40 years. Complete with a hinged top walnut case with slide latch. The top & bottom with nice decorative brass corners. The interior is French fit & lined in a burgundy felt. Accessories include a brass powder flask with a dark brown lacquer finish on the body, a two leg bullet mold that cast both a round & conical ball that is painted black, a blued nipple wrench/screwdriver, an empty cap tin with Eley Bros label, five dummy paper cartridge packets, and the loading instructions label on the interior case lid. This is an extremely rare Uberti miniature, and only maybe the fourth I have ever had the pleasure of offering for sale. I sold this exact cased set many years ago as part of the Nelson Perry collection, & it’s about as cool a cased miniature 1860 army Colt as your ever likely to find! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
