!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 47% Colt 1851 Navy revolver made by Uberti in Italy. This is their “Prestige Edition” which was the most ornately embellished of all their miniatures. Fully functional, but non-firing. 6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ octagon rifled barrel of .17 caliber. Beautifully factory hand engraved with about 75% coverage. Profusely gold inlaid in vines & scrolls on the barrel with a gold inlaid horse head on the left side of the barrel lug, a gold three masted sailing ship inlaid on the right barrel lug, gold leaves on each side of the frame, and a gold leaf on the left recoil shield. Beautiful full charcoal blue finish except for the hammer which is case colored, and the backstrap & triggerguard which are gold plated. The yellow brass bead front sight showing a nice aged patina. The top of the barrel gold inlaid with the proper Colt barrel address. The front left of the frame marked COLT’S PATENT in two lines. .36 CAL marked at the left rear of the triggerguard. The cylinder roll stamped with the Ormsby naval battle scene and some inlaid gold wire borders at the rear. The serial number, “300”, stamped into the barrel lug, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and cylinder. Beautiful one piece ivory grip showing some nice grain and just a little age patina. Complete with the original Uberti glass topped mahogany casing, plush lined with light blue fabric. The lower front of the case with a bar code sticker with the serial # “300” and LEW0045. Mint new condition except for some scuffs & minor scratches on the case lid. These are really beautiful, and not that expensive considering all the hand engraving, gold inlays, ivory grip, and beautiful finishing. Ex Lew Horton collection.
