Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 47% scale Winchester 1866 carbine made by Uberti in Italy. This is a project piece. All the parts are there, but the forearm screw and the tang screw that secures the buttstock need to be properly fitted. What is neat about this piece is that the brass receiver, sideplates, and cartridge lifter have never been gold plated. The buttplate was gold plated, and the plating would need to be stripped, or everything gold plated like Uberti did it. Uberti gold plated the brass parts because the cast receiver, cartridge lifter, and buttplate were a different color than the sheet brass sideplates. Me, I like the look of an aged brass patina, & with some time, I think it will look really good. You could also artificially age the brass if you wanted. The lever, hammer, & trigger are color case hardened by Doug Turnbull in New York, they came blued from Uberti. The top of the barrel has the proper Winchester 2 line barrel address laser engraved just ahead of the rear sight, and was done by me back when I worked for IMA. 18 3/4″ long overall with a 9″ rifled round barrel of .21 caliber. Straight grained walnut buttstock and forearm with high gloss varnished finish. High polish blue steel barrel, magazine, bands, etc. The carbine buttplate with the sliding trapdoor for a cleaning rod (cleaning rod not included). Carbine flip rear sight. The hammer spur finely checkered. Beautiful craftsmanship and typical Uberti high quality. No serial number stamped into the lower tang and no Uberti markings. Straight grip stock, full magazine, carbine buttplate. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
