Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a “Presidential Edition” Colt single action army revolver as issued by the United States Historical Society.  Made in Italy by Uberti under license from Colt.  5 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ .21 caliber rifled barrel.  Gold and silver plated finish, with gold plated screws, checkered pre-ban ivory grips.  Beautifully engraved in American scroll with about 50% coverage.  Serial # 114, as all these were, the actual serial # 444 is stamped into the cylinder pin boss just below the cylinder pin, and on the rear of the cylinder.  This is a miniature of the first known engraved Colt single action army revolver, which was serial number 114, which was probably on display at the 1876 “Centennial” exhibition.  It is a very faithful miniature reproduction with excellent high quality engraving, and high quality checkering on the ivory grip. The two patent dates are stamped into the left front of the frame, the barrel with the proper one line italics barrel address, the left rear of the triggerguard with the caliber marking. Knurled hammer spur. Early black powder “pinched” frame topstrap, round “bullseye” ejector rod button, and the cylinder pin secured by a screw.  Fully functional but non-firing.  Complete with the original USHS glass topped mahogany casing with etched Colt logo on the glass.  The interior French fit in a dark green velvet, with the usual USHS engraved brass rectangular plaque.  The revolver is in mint new condition except for the expected tarnish to the silver plating.  The case has some minor scuffs.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
