This is a 47% scale miniature Colt 1861 Navy 4 screw percussion revolver with detachable shoulder stock originally issued and sold by the United States Historical Society, and authorized by Colt, in the 1980’s. These were made by Uberti in Italy for the U.S. Historical Society, under license from Colt. This is the “Classic Edition” which is a standard non-embellished working man’s revolver. 12 1/8″ long overall with the shoulder stock attached. These were referred to as four screw revolvers because of the additional protuding screws on each side of the frame to locate & secure the detachable shoulder stock to the revolver. The revolver is 6″ long overall with a 3 9/16″ rifled barrel. Checkered loading lever latch and hammer spur. Fully functional, but non-firing. Round .17 caliber rifled barrel with a yellow brass blade front sight. Blue and case colored finish with the exception of the stock yoke and buttplate which are yellow brass. One line Colt barrel address roll stamped into the top of the barrel. The left front of the frame stamped COLT”S PATENT in two lines. The left rear of the triggerguard stamped .36 CAL. The barrel, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, buttplate, and stock yoke with the serial number 114. The stamped with the number 14, & roll engraved with the Ormsby naval battle cylinder scene. Walnut one piece grip and shoulder stock. Missing the original USHS mahogany casing with hinged glass top. A neat piece and the lowest production model of all the United States Historical Society “Classic Edition” miniatures. 100% mint new condition except the hanging ring on the bottom of the stock yoke is missing.
