Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 47% scale Colt single action army “Classic Edition” revolver Model of 1873 as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the 1980’s. All of these have serial number “1” stamped into the frame, triggerguard, & backstrap. This is because this is an exact miniature of Colt SAA serial # 1! The actual serial number, 12, is stamped into the cylinder pin boss just below the cylinder pin and the rear of the cylinder. 6 1/8″ long overall with a 3 7/16″ long rifled barrel. Fully functional, but non-firing. Typical of the early Colt SAA’s, this has the “pinched” frame sight topstrap, the round “Bullseye” ejector rod button, and the cylinder pin retained by a screw. The top of the barrel is roll stamped with the single line Colt “Italics” barrel address “+COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.+” . The left front of the frame roll stamped with the Colt patents in two lines “-PAT. JULY 25, 1871-, -PAT. JULY 2, 1872-“. The left rear of the triggerguard stamped with the “.45 CAL” caliber markings. Checkered hammer spur. The hammer has the typical COLT four clicks when cocked slowly. As per the originals, the frame, hammer, and loading gate are color case hardened. The balance of the steel parts are a beautiful high polish black blue. Nickel silver front sight. Very nicely figured rosewood one piece grip. Complete with the original USHS mahogany hinged top casing with slide latch. The “COLT” logo stamped into the right front corner of the top. The interior French fit with a dark forest green velour lining and includes the typical USHS “Classic Edition” brass plaque which reads “No. 1 SINGLE ACTION ARMY, CLASSIC EDITION, COLT FIREARMS, UNITED STATES HISTORICAL SOCIETY” in four lines. The revolver is in mint new pristine condition with no signs of handling, & no cylinder drag mark. The revolver includes the USHS factory envelope, all factory documentation including the Certificate of Authenticity, miniature Colt factory letter, correspondence from the USHS to the original owner. Also includes the original factory sheet of foam to keep the miniature from rattling around in the case, the heavy corrugated cardboard shipping box, the original heavy corrugated cardboard crush sleeve spacer, and the corrugated cardboard sheet top protector. It is exactly like originally received by the original buyer, & someday this will make this revolver worth a very decided premium! These revolvers were made by Uberti in Italy, for the U.S. Historical Society, under license from Colt. Mint new condition. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
