Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% scale Colt single action army “Classic Edition” revolver Model of 1873 as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the 1980’s.  All of these have serial number “1” stamped into the frame, triggerguard, & backstrap. This is because this is an exact miniature of serial # 1 Colt SAA. The actual serial number, 463, is stamped into the cylinder pin boss just below the cylinder pin and the rear of the cylinder.  63 is stamped into the loading gate. 6 1/8″ long overall with a 3 7/16″ long rifled barrel. Fully functional, but non-firing. Typical of the early Colt SAA’s, this has the “pinched” frame sight, the round “Bullseye” ejector rod button, and the cylinder pin retained by a screw. The top of the barrel is roll stamped with the single line Colt “Italics” barrel address. The left front of the frame roll stamped with the Colt patents in two lines. The left rear of the triggerguard stamped with the “.45 CAL” caliber markings. Checkered hammer spur. As per the originals, the frame, hammer, and loading gate are color case hardened. The balance of the steel parts are a beautiful high polish black blue. Nickel silver front sight. Very nicely figured walnut one piece grips. Complete with the original USHS mahogany hinged top casing with slide latch. The Colt logo stamped into the right front corner of the top. The interior French fit with a dark forest green velour lining and includes the typical USHS “Classic Edition” brass plaque which reads “No. 1 SINGLE ACTION ARMY, CLASSIC EDITION, COLT FIREARMS, UNITED STATES HISTORICAL SOCIETY” in four lines.  Also included is the original manila bottom and brown top lift top cardboard box, and the original miniature Colt factory letter, which is usually missing from these miniatures. The revolver is in mint new pristine condition with no signs of handling, & no cylinder drag mark.  The case and letter are also mint.  The cardboard box has a split corner on both the top & bottom, and the top shows numerous scuffs, mostly to the edges & corners.  Photos are of this exact miniature.  The revolvers were made by Uberti in Italy, for the U.S. Historical Society, under license from Colt.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
