Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% Colt 1851 Navy revolver as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the 1980’s.  This is the “Presidential Edition” and was made by Uberti under license from Colt for the USHS.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ octagon rifled barrel of .17 caliber.  Beautifully factory hand engraved with about 75% coverage.  The frame, hammer, rammer, and loading lever are case colored.  The balance of the steel parts are charcoal blue. The brass triggerguard, backstrap are gold plated.  The yellow brass bead front sight  showing a nice aged patina.  The top of the barrel roll stamped with the proper Colt barrel address.  The front left of the frame marked COLT’S PATENT in two lines.  .36 CAL marked at the left rear of the triggerguard.  The cylinder roll stamped with the Ormsby naval battle scene.  The serial number, 131, stamped into the barrel lug, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and the side of the cylinder.  Mother of pearl grips with a gold Colt medallion on the left side.  Complete with the original USHS glass topped mahogany casing with Colt etched into the right rear corner of the glass.  The case bottom French fit and lined in a light blue velour.  The bottom of the case lined in a brown felt.  Mint new condition.  This is possibly the most popular, and definitely the most difficult to find, of the USHS “Presidential Series” Colts.  These are really beautiful, and not all that expensive considering the high quality hand engraving, pearl grips, and beautiful finishing.  In my opinion, these USHS “Presidential Series” Colts are the best “bang for the buck” in miniature arms collecting!  This is the first one of these I have been able to offer for sale in almost 2 years!  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
