U.S. Historical Society 47% Scale Colt 1851 Navy “Presidential Edition” Engraved Percussion Revolver With Pearl Grips, Original Case, & Original Colt Factory Letter, Serial # 100!

This is a 47% scale Colt 1851 Navy revolver as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the mid to late 1980’s.  This one issued in 1986.  This is the “Presidential Edition” and was made by Uberti under license from Colt for the USHS.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ octagon rifled barrel of .17 caliber.  Beautifully factory hand engraved with about 75% coverage.  The frame, hammer, rammer, and loading lever are case colored.  The balance of the steel parts are a beautiful charcoal blue.  The brass triggerguard & backstrap are gold plated.  The yellow brass bead front sight showing a nice, aged patina.  The top of the barrel roll stamped with the proper Colt barrel address “- ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY-“.  The front left of the frame marked “COLT’S PATENT” in two lines.  The cylinder roll stamped with the Ormsby naval battle scene.  The serial number, 100, stamped into the barrel lug, frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and the side of the cylinder.  Mother of pearl grip with a gold Colt medallion on the left side.  Checkered hammer spur & loading lever latch.  Complete with the original USHS glass topped mahogany casing with Colt etched into the right rear corner of the glass.  The interior case bottom French fit and lined in a light blue velour.  The bottom of the case lined in a brown felt.  Also included is the original miniature Colt factory letter signed by Colt historian M. S. Huber & with his embossed stamp dating this miniature to 1986.    Mint new condition.  This is possibly the most popular, and definitely the most difficult to find, of the USHS “Presidential Series” Colts.  These are really beautiful, and not all that expensive considering the high quality hand engraving, pearl grip, and beautiful finishing.  In my opinion, these USHS “Presidential Series” Colts are the best “bang for the buck” in miniature arms collecting!  While these miniature Colt 1851 navy revolvers are not common, finding one with an original Colt factory miniature letter is rare!  Price:  $1,400.00.
