Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 47% Colt 1851 Navy revolver as issued by the United States Historical Society in the 1980’s.  This is the “Classic Edition”, and was made by Uberti under license from Colt for the USHS.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 1/2″ octagon rifled barrel of .17 caliber.  The frame, hammer, rammer, and loading lever are case colored.  The balance of the steel parts are charcoal “blue” blue.  Almost all of these I have ever seen have had a brass triggerguard & backstrap.  This example has a silver plated triggerguard and backstrap, of which I have only seen one other.  This had to have been special ordered!  The top of the barrel roll stamped with the Colt italics barrel address.  The front left of the frame marked COLT’S PATENT in two lines.  .36 CAL marked at the left rear of the triggerguard.  The cylinder roll stamped with the Ormsby sailing ship naval battle scene.  The serial number 611 is stamped into the barrel lug, frame, triggerguard, & backstrap.  “11” stamped into the cylinder.  Checkered hammer spur & loading lever latch.  Brass bead style front sight.  One piece select walnut grip with some nice figure.  Complete with the original USHS mahogany casing with Colt stamped into the front right corner of the top.  The interior is French fit with light blue velour lining.  Includes the original Colt miniature factory letter, & the original cream colored bottom and brown top cardboard lift top box.  This is a super rare factory variation, I have only seen one other, & that  one had condition issues & was sold as a blemished bargain.   Mint new condition except for the expected tarnish to the silver.  On an interesting note, the revolver came from one source & the case, box, & letter from another, & are now put back together after who knows how many years!  Stock # BF-29.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
