Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an about 1/4 scale Colt 1911 A1 semi-automatic pistols by the renown Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico. Probably made somewhere around the late 1940’s to the mid 1960’s. These were supposedly made by prisoners in some jail or prison in Mexico City. 2 5/16″ long with a 1 3/16″ barrel of about .124 caliber. These shoot, single shot, the 2mm thick rim rimfire blank cartridges. The hammer can be cocked manually, and will also cock when the slide is retracted. To shoot these, the trigger is actually the grip safety, which when depressed drops the hammer. Yellow brass construction except for the screws which are steel finished in the white, and the grips which are mother of pearl. The grips are held in place by four brass pins, two on each side. The hammer, slide release, and the lower part of the mainspring housing are checkered. The bottom of the magazine release is serrated. Both sides and the top of the slide are scroll engraved. There is a little engraving on the front and the rear of the frame. Complete with a non-original hinged top walnut casing, the interior lined in an off white silk. The silk showing some staining. Although a little out of proportion, these are very collectible and highly sought after. One just recently sold for $900.00 at auction, and it was not engraved! Stock # OR-1, !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
