Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a full size Hopkins & Allen “Parrot Head” derringer by the famous Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, probably made in the mid 1940’s to mid 1960’s.  3 7/16″ long overall with a 1 3/4″ smoothbore barrel.  This piece was originally finished with a gold wash over nickel with the exception of the barrel release and the grip screw which are blued.  The gold wash finishes are very fragile, and only traces remain in the protected areas.  The underlying nickel finish is in excellent condition with no signs of flaking or pitting.  Beautiful rosewood two piece grips with a brass escutcheon on the right side only and a single screw entering from the left side.  The left side of the frame stamped “WESTON, MEXICO, 1”.  Mechanically perfect.  Excellent overall condition except for the thin gold wash.  These are extremely rare.  I have seen this one twice, and no others.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
