This is a 1/2 scale BelMex 2mm rimfire single shot pistol by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, probably made from the late 1940’s to early 1960’s. 2 3/16″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ barrel of about .075 caliber. Fire blue finish. Two piece varnished walnut grips with yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the left side. The bottom of the butt has a lanyard ring. Serrated hammer spur. Complete with the original Weston hinged top clamshell cardboard box with push button latch. The outside of the box covered in red felt. The interior bottom lined in a dark red velour with 2 loops, one for the barrel and one for a pill capsule (not included) of 2mm rimfire blank cartridges. The interior lid lined in an off white silk, and marked “”BELMEX” “MODEL”, WESTON’S, MADERO 13 MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, MEXICAN CRAFTS, ANTIQUES” in 6 lines. The bottom of the box marked in pencil “WOOD GRIPS, WITH RING, a line, $197.50” Also includes the original walnut handle blue steel cleaning rod with yellow brass ferrule. The pistol shows 95 – 98% strong original fire blue, and shows little sign of having been shot. The box shows some minor wear, mostly to the edges and corners. Price: $750.00.
