Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a very rare 1/4 scale Remington Model 1865 Navy rolling block pistol by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, made from the mid 1940’s to the Mid 1960’s. 3 3/8″ long overall with a 2 3/16″ round barrel of .092 caliber. The Remington Model 1865 pistols have a spur trigger with no triggerguard, whereas the 1871 Army pistols have a triggerguard. Beautiful charcoal blue finished steel parts except for the breech block & hammer which are case colored. Straight grained walnut pistol grip & forearm. No markings, so it is possible that this was made by Fred Thacker in El Paso, Texas about the same time period. Complete with a Remington marked green felt hinged top case with push button latch that probably originally held a Remington tie bar. The interior bottom French fit & lined in a buff cloth. The interior lid lined in an off white silk with the Remington logo in silk screened gold. There is a solid brass dummy cartridge in the chamber, and when the hammer is cocked, and the breech block rolled back, you can see that the extractor is functional. I believe this piece will chamber & fire the 2mm rimfire blank cartridge. This piece is in excellent condition, but does show some freckling to the charcoal blue finish on the barrel. The stocks are excellent. The case is obviously much newer than the miniature, & is in excellent condition. This is only the second one of these I have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale, the other was over 15 years ago. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
