Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is an about 1/4 scale Colt 1911 semi-automatic pistol by the renown Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico. Probably made somewhere around the late 1940’s to the mid 1960’s. These were supposedly made by prisoners in some jail or prison in Mexico City. 2 5/16″ long with a 1 3/16″ barrel of about .124 caliber. These shoot, single shot, the 2mm thick rim rimfire blank cartridges. The hammer can be cocked manually, and will also cock when the slide is retracted. To shoot these, the trigger is actually the grip safety, which when depressed drops the hammer. Yellow brass construction except for the screws which are steel finished in the white, the copper grip rivets, and the grips which are mother of pearl. The lower part of the mainspring housing is checkered. The rear sides of the slide are serrated. There is a brass lanyard loop at the rear just under the hammer. The right side of the slide is crudely engraved “JK”, the previous owners initials, but it is not very deep & could be polished out. Although a little out of proportion, these are very collectible and highly sought after. One just recently sold for $900.00 in an Ebay auction! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
