Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is an about 1/4 scale Colt 1911 A1 semi-automatic pistols by the renown Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico.  Probably made somewhere around the mid 1940’s to the mid 1960’s.  These were supposedly made by prisoners in some jail or prison in Mexico City.  2 5/16″ long with a 1 3/16″ barrel of about .124 caliber.  These shoot, single shot, the 2mm thick rim rimfire blank cartridges.  The hammer can be cocked manually, and will also cock when the slide is retracted.  To shoot these, the trigger is actually the grip safety, which when depressed drops the hammer.  Yellow brass construction except for the screws & rivets which are steel finished in the white, and the grip,s which look to be black plastic.  The grips are held in place by four brass pins, two on each side.  The lower part of the mainspring housing is checkered.  The rear sides of the slide are serrated.  Although a little out of proportion, these are very collectible and highly sought after.  One just recently sold for $900.00 at auction!

Complete with the original Tom Weston matching leather holster that came with this miniature from a very old collection from the northeast.  The gun has the green waxy verdigris from being in the holster for years.  While I have seen a number of leather holsters for the BelMex pistols over the years, this is the first Weston Colt 1911 holster I have ever seen!  Stock # MC-25.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
