Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale Wesson swivel barrel derringer that I believe to have been made by Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, or possibly by Fred Thacker of El Paso, Texas back in the mid 1940’s to the mid 1960’s.  2 1/2″ long overall with a 1 7/32″ barrel group.  The pistol is made of steel & finished in the white except for the hammer, trigger, & barrel nut which are blued.  This miniature does not have the barrel release under the barrel like a real Wesson.  Instead, you remove the barrel nut to load, and slightly loosen the barrel nut to rotate the barrels.  There is a small bump on the lower face of the recoil shield that locks the barrel group in place when the barrel nut is tightened.  The right side of the barrel group marked “SMITH & WESSON”.  No other markings.  The hammer has full cock only.  Two piece nicely figured walnut grips that are pinned in place by what looks to be a single pin through both grips.  This is chambered for and will shoot the Weston proprietary 3mm centerfire cartridges, and six are included in a clear pill capsule.  Cased in a light blue leatherette hinged top box with pivoting hook latch that is most likely not made by Weston. The interior bottom French fit & lined in red felt.  The interior top lined in an off white silk.  The piece is in good condition, but does show some rust staining and minor etching on one side of the barrel group and on one side of the frame.  Priced accordingly.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
