Project Description
!!!!!PRICE REDUCED!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Remington Vest Pocket derringer by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico. 2 1/4″ long overall with a 1 23/32″ round barrel of about .110 caliber. Both sides of the frame are nicely engraved, with an arrowhead motif engraved on each side of the barrel, and on each end of the grip bottom. Silver plated finish except for the trigger, hammer, and grip strap which are nickel plated, the sides of the hammer & trigger are polished and in the white. Checkered hammer spur. The bead front sight is missing. Nicely figured two piece mother of pearl grips with a nice aged patina and beautiful grain, with brass escutcheons and a single fire blued screw entering from the left side. No serial number. The top of the frame marked “REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y., PATENT OCT. 1, 1861”. This is a usual type marking for Weston where he would add an “s” to the name as the real derringers are marked Remington, not Remingtons. While this piece could easily be confused for a Larry Smith or a Daniel Osterman, the barrel address is what identifies this as a Weston. Near mint condition excepting only the missing front sight and some expected tarnish to the silver. This will shoot the 2mm thick rim blank rimfire cartridges. Price Reduced: $750.00.
