Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Colt Texas #5 Paterson five shot percussion revolver made by the famous Tom P. Weston in Mexico City, Mexico. 6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 3/4″ barrel of about .174 caliber. 100% fully functional, and will shoot if you can find the proper percussion caps and lead bullets. The hammer has both half and full cock. The folding trigger drops down when the hammer is cocked, and the cylinder properly indexes with an action that’s smooth as silk!. Fire “blue” blue finish. Cased in a typical Weston hinged top mahogany case with push button latch. The top with the typical Weston decorative ogee around the edge. The interior French fit & lined in a purple felt. The case top with a rectangular brass plaque held in place by two small brass nails & pantograph engraved “COLT 1836 TEXAS PATERSON, BY WESTON”. Near mint condition just showing very little signs of handling, I’d call it 98+%. This is the first 1/2 scale Weston Texas #5 Paterson I have ever seen or heard of. The photos of #5 Texas Patersons in Art Brown’s book on Mexican miniatures are all made in 1/3 scale! Not saying it’s unique, but I’ve probably seen more Weston miniatures that anyone alive, & this is a first for me!!! Stock # PR-07. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
