Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a beautiful true 50% or 1/2 scale Colt single action army revolver by Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, made in December of 1972 & the case interior bottom so marked. Weston only made about 30 Colt SAA revolvers, and they are the most sought after of all Weston miniatures. I have one in my own collection! This miniature Weston Colt SAA is chambered for and will shoot the .22 short rimfire cartridge. 6 1/4″ long overall with a 3 21/32″ rifled barrel of .22 caliber. Beautiful highly polished blue barrel, ejector rod housing, ejector rod, triggerguard, backstrap, cylinder, cylinder pin, loading gate, & screws. The hammer is blued with the sides polished in the white. Case colored frame. The top of the barrel hand engraved with the Colt one line barrel address “COLT’S PT. F.A.MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame hand engraved with the Colt patent dates in two lines “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871., JULY 2, 72, JAN. 16, 75.”. The serial number “9” stamped into the bottom front of the frame, the bottom front of the triggerguard, and the bottom of the backstrap. The topstrap has the later sighting notch at the very rear. Very finely checkered hammer spur. Black powder frame with the round “Bullseye” ejector rod button, and a screw retaining the cylinder pin. Blued blade type front sight. The hammer has the typical four clicks when you cock it slowly. One piece ivory grip with high relief carving on the right side of the typical Mexican eagle on cactus with a snake in it’s beak. Complete with the original Weston deluxe hinged top mahogany case with push button latch & interior glass. The case lid with an inlaid thin brass rectangle and a center inlaid brass rectangle with scalloped corners that is engraved “TKB”. I’ll tell the buyer what the initials stand for. The case interior is lined in red felt. The bottom removable insert is French fit, & has a rectangular brass plaque with scalloped corners that reads “MODEL 1873, COLT, SINGLE ACTION ARMY” in three lines. The revolver is in excellent near mint condition, I’d call it 99%. The case is also near mint. The bottom of the case has the typical red enamel on brass oval Weston tag which reads “WESTON, MEXICO, D.F. The inside bottom of the case, under the insert, is hand lettered “By: TOM P. WESTON”, then signed by Weston, “SPECIALIST EXCEPTIONALLY FINE MINIATURE GUNS, MEXICO D.F., DECEMBER 1972, No. 9 (in a rectangle)”. This piece was bought directly from Tom Weston by the previous owner. Stock # BK-17. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
