Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/2 scale BelMex 3mm centerfire single shot pistol made by Top P. Weston in Mexico City, Mexico in mid 1940’s to the mid 1960’s.  This is the much scarcer 3mm centerfire version which shoots the Weston proprietary 3mm centerfire blank cartridges.  2 1/4″ long overall with a 1 5/16″ barrel of about .096 caliber.  Blued finish except for the hammer which is case hardened.   The hammer has both half & full cock.  Two piece ivory grips with a yellow brass escutcheon on the right side only and a single screw entering from the right side.  The left grip is high relief carved in the typical Mexican motif of the eagle sitting on a prickly pear cactus with a snake in it’s mouth.  There is a blind escutcheon on the left grip so that it and the end of the screw do not show.  The bottom of the grip butt with a lanyard ring. Serrated hammer spur & trigger.  The 3mm centerfire versions are very easy to tell from the 2mm rimfire versions by the very pointed firing pin on the hammer, and the larger bore diameter.  This piece shows about 60% thinning blue with the balance turning a smooth gray/brown patina with no pitting.  The grips are excellent showing a nice aged patina.  This may be the only Weston BelMex pistol with grips like these that I have ever seen!  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
