Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a beautiful true 50% or 1/2 scale Colt single action army revolver with 4 3/4″ barrel by Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, probably made in the 1950’s to mid 1960’s.  Weston only made about 30 Colt SAA revolvers, and they are probably the most sought after of Weston miniatures.  I have one in my own small collection!  This miniature Weston Colt SAA is chambered for and will shoot the .22 short rimfire cartridge.   5 1/8″ long overall with a 2 7/16″ rifled barrel of .22 caliber.  Beautiful highly polished blue barrel, ejector rod housing, ejector rod, triggerguard, backstrap, cylinder, cylinder pin, loading gate, & screws.  The hammer is blued with the sides polished in the white.  Case colored frame.  The top of the barrel hand engraved with the Colt two line barrel address “COLT’S PT. F.A.MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”.  The left side of the barrel hand engraved “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER”.  The left side of the frame hand engraved with the Colt patent dates in two lines “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871., JULY 2, 72, JAN. 16, 75.”, then the Colt rampant horse logo in a circle.  The serial number “6” stamped into the bottom front of the frame, the bottom front of the triggerguard, and the bottom of the backstrap.    The topstrap has the later sighting notch at the very rear.  Very finely checkered hammer spur.  Smokeless powder frame with the oval ejector rod button, and a spring loaded plunger to release the cylinder pin.  Blued blade type front sight.  The hammer has the typical four clicks when you cock it slowly.  One piece ivory grip with a beautiful patina & grain.  Complete with a non-typical beautiful burl wood hinged top casing.  The case interior is English fit & lined in green cloth.  The case interior lid with the Colt loading instructions label, & there are 21 solid brass dummy cartridges in a wood panel.  The revolver is in excellent 98% plus condition but does show a drag mark on the cylinder.  The case is excellent with a high gloss exterior finish & near pristine interior.  These Weston Colt SAA revolvers are rare, & one of the most sought after miniatures in the hobby, even more rare in .22 short as some were made in 4mm rimfire.  Stock # RC-15.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
