!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a beautiful 1/2 scale dagger reportedly made by Japanese maker T. Michanaka about 20 years ago. The dagger is 7 1/8″ long overall with a 4 3/4″ spear point double edged hollow ground Damascus blade. The Damascus on pattern on the blade is absolutely gorgeous! The steel cross guard is high relief engraved with leaves with what looks to be a gold rivet in the middle. The steel pommel also engraved. The dagger includes two scabbards. The first is black leather with a silver throat, drag, & frog retainer, with the frog retainer & drag engraved in leaf patterns. The second has no belt attachment or hanger. It is also black leather with silver throat & drag, the throat engraved with a spread winged German eagle perched atop a cross with a swastika in the center of the cross with leaves at the bottom. The drag engraved in a leaf pattern. The back side of the throat hand engraved “K. IURA”, who is a well known Japanese engraver. The dagger itself & first scabbard are unmarked. Excellent near mint as made condition. A truly beautiful piece by a pair of obvious master craftsmen! Provenance: From the Frank Brownell collection. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
