Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a 1/5 scale 1847 Colt Walker dragoon revolver made by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, probably in the mid 1950’s. 3 1/8″ long overall with a 2 11/16″ part octagon part round barrel of .080 caliber. This is the smallest & rarest of the miniature Colt Walkers made by Tom Weston.  According to Weston historian & author Art Brown’s book “Miniature Guns of Mexico”, only about 15 of these were ever made.  Serial # 15 is pictured in Art’s book on page 88, & is almost exactly like this one, including the accessories & case.  The only difference I can see, other than the serial number, is this one has a leather pull tab under the barrel to assist in removing the revolver.  Fire blued steel finish, yellow brass triggerguard & blade front sight.  The top of the barrel has the barrel address “ADDRESS SAML COLT”.   The bottom of the barrel lug, frame, and triggerguard marked “14”.  The bottom of the grip strap marked “COLT 14”.  The left side of the barrel lug marked “1847” just above the wedge screw.  Interesting that the wedge screw is on the wrong side, as is serial # 15 pictured in Art’s book.  Checkered hammer spur, the hammer has both half and full cock and has a crisp action when the trigger is pulled.  This piece is fully functional and shoot-able.  These originally came with the percussion caps and bullets so they could be shot.  Complete with the original Weston mahogany hinged top casing with push button latch.  The case lid inlaid with two concentric rectangles of inlaid brass wire.  The case interior French fit and lined in red kid goat leather.  The case bottom inlaid with the typical Weston oval brass tag with red enamel.  Accessories include a blue steel three legged bullet mold with a bullet still inside the cavity, a Colt marked brass powder flask with spring loaded spout, the blued combination screwdriver/mainspring vise/nipple wrench, a nice quantity of cast lead conical bullets, & five very tiny spare nipples.  There are two round compartments with round ivory lids, one of which stores the bullets, the other compartment contains the five spare nipples, & probably originally the percussion caps which are now absent.  Both compartments still contain the original cotton wadding used to hold the contents in place.  There is a piece of black & white photographic paper in the lid with the Colt loading instructions, along with a miniature one dollar bill.  Excellent plus 95% condition showing signs of just minor handling.  Extremely rare and only the second I have ever offered for sale or seen in almost 30 years.  Stock # BK-10.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
