Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a cased pair of 1/3 scale George Washington flintlock pistols by master miniature maker Stanley Blashak of Pennsylvania.  Each pistol is 5 1/2″ long overall with a 3″ part octagon part round steel barrel of about .156 caliber.  The muzzle of the barrel slightly swelled.  The lock assembly, barrel, and trigger are steel finished in the white.  The barrel tang, barrel breech, lockplate, and hammer modestly but expertly engraved.  The furniture is German silver with more elaborate engraving on the sideplate, triggerguard, buttcap, and rear ramrod thimble.  The forward ramrod thimble barrel shaped with a swelled ring at each end.  The rosewood stocks with some nice carving near the barrel tang and some fluting on each side of the ramrod.  The locks have both half and full cock, with a crisp action.  Accessories include a German silver powder flask, a bristle brush, a screwdriver, and a steel bullet mold with sprue cutter.  The mold is finished in the white, casting a single round ball.  Cased in a very typical Stanley Blashak hinged top walnut casing with beveled top and swivel latch.  The interior French fit and lined in red velour.  The pistols and accessories are mint as new.  This set was specially commissioned in July of 2000 from Mr. Blashak, and this pair of pistols is the only set he ever stocked in rosewood.  Stock # WC-353.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
