Project Description

This is a very early 1/4 scale cased pair of ivory stocked flintlock pistols made by master miniaturist Stanley Blashak, probably in the 1970’s.  Each pistol is 3 1/2″ long overall with a 2″ part octagon part round swamped barrel of .133 caliber.  Swamped means the barrel bells out slightly at the muzzle, like a mini blunderbuss.  Steel lock assembly finished in the white.  The hammer with both half & full cock with a crisp action.  The barrel, upper tang, & furniture made of German silver, the barrel & upper tang with some modest engraving.  The sideplate, triggerguard, buttcap showing more extensive engraving.  Full length ivory ramrod with a typical swelled tip.  One piece ivory stocks showing a nice aged patina with some scrimshawed decorations along the barrel & some high relief carving at the rear of the locks & sideplates.  This set has the most accessories of any Blashak set I remember seeing!  They include an ivory cleaning rod with German silver ends, a steel priming flask with screw off end finished in the white, a steel bullet mold with sprue cutter finished in the white, an ivory powder flask, an ivory handles screwdriver with steel blade finished in the white, an ivory bullet starter hammer with ivory head & handle & steel shaft finished in the white, & an ivory lift top round container which I think would have held extra flints.  The case interior French fit & lined in a dark green felt.  Stanley’s 1’4 scale miniatures are scarce to rare, & one with this lever of accessories is literally on heard of!  Stock # CK-66.  Price:  $5,000.00.
