Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale brass barreled blunderbuss by master miniature maker Stanley Blashak of Pennsylvania. 12″ long overall with a 5 7/8″ half octagon, tapered half round barrel. The outer muzzle diameter is .655, although the actual bore diameter is much smaller. The barrel is bored all the way to the touch hole. Brass furniture. Steel lock assembly & trigger finished in the white. The hammer with both half & full cock. There is some nice well executed engraving on the barrel top flat of the rear of the barrel, the barrel tang, lockplate, sideplate, hammer, buttplate, & triggerguard. One piece highly figured walnut stock with an oil finish with some beautiful scroll carving on each side of the comb, at the front of the triggerguard, the rear of the rear ramrod thimble, and on each side ahead of the lockplate & sideplate. Near mint new condition. This is the first 1/2 scale & the largest Stanley Blashak blunderbuss I have ever seen, most of his being made in 1/4 or 1/3 scales. Most likely a one of a kind unique item.
