!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 2/3 scale Colt MKII Series 90 “Double Eagle” semi-automatic .45 ACP caliber pistol made by Raymond E. Hutchens of Indianapolis, Indiana. Serial number DF07271. The pistol is 4 15/16” long overall with a 2 3/8” barrel of .32 caliber. This pistol, except for reduced size, is an exact reproduction of its larger counterpart, in every way, shape, form, to the finest detail. All internal dimensions are correct, and all bearing surfaces have been properly hardened. Even the bore rifling is an exact reproduction in ½ scale of the twist, lands, and grooves of the full size Colt Double Eagle. This pistol was repeatedly test fired with .32 ACP ammunition. Functional decocking lever. The rear of the slide serrated on both sides. The front of the trigger and the mainspring housing both finely checkered. The frontstrap vertically serrated. The pistol is perfect in every detail from the high polished blue finish, to the polished in the white finish on the sides of the hammer, to the white dot sights. No detail has been overlooked from the checkered molded two piece grips, to the polishing pattern on the magazines, to the perfect placement of all markings and lettering, which were applied using roll dies made by Mr. Hutchens. The pistol is cased in the original Hutchens black leatherette hinged top casing with a round push button latch in the likeness of a Colt grip medallion along with an extra magazine. The top outside corners with round steel protectors. The interior English fit and lined in dark green felt. Included is a spare magazine. This is a “One-Of-A-Kind” piece”, and is documented on page 89 in Joseph Kramer’s book “Scale Model Firearms”. Raymond Hutchens was, in my humble opinion, the finest miniature arms maker to ever walk this planet. He and his work are prominently featured in Joseph D. Kramer’s book on miniature firearms “Scale Model Firearms”, in fact taking up 89 of the 135 pages. Mr. Kramer describes Mr. Hutchens in his book: “His uncompromising devotion to the producing of these models, is a tribute to a man who is known internationally, to be the finest maker of model firearms in the world. I have been associated with Mr. Hutchens for over 40 years and his accomplishments are an inspiration to all who are privileged to view his work.” I showed this to the people working the Colt booth at the 2016 NRA Annual convention and they were in absolute awe! If I hadn’t had my MIniature Arms Society badge on, they would have thought it was some rare one of a kind prototype baby Double Eagle! !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
