Project Description

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!  This is a one-of-a-kind miniature pepperbox revolver by master gun maker Sandro Lucchini of Italy.  This pepperbox is a design by Larry Smith.  Joel Morrow gave Sandro one of Larry’s miniature pepperboxes to use as a pattern.  This pepperbox has a five shot barrel & will shoot the 2mm pinfire cartridges.  2 5/16″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ barrel group.  The barrel & hammer are finished in the white.  The trigger, trigger spring, recoil shield, & screws are blue.  Brass frame & grip strap which are nicely engraved by Claudio Cremini of Italy.  The hammer has a checkered hammer spur, & has both half & full cock.  Nicely figured one piece rosewood bird’s head grip.    The cylinder does not index, just as Larry’s do not, & must be rotated manually after each shot.  Near mint condition showing only the most minor signs of handling, some fading of the blued parts, no signs of ever having been fired, and the expected age patina on the brass.  Sandro is a maker of hand made “Best” double barrel shotguns and double rifles.  He made over 20 truly fine shotguns & rifles for Joel Morrow, and Joel and Sandro were friends for many years.  Sandro made only one of these for Joel, using a Larry Smith miniature as a pattern.  To the best of my knowledge, Sandro only ever made seven miniatures.  The others were a copy of a Larry Smith 2mm pinfire Colt Paterson and five copies of a Larry Smith 2mm rimfire Frank Wesson swivel barrel revolver.  There were rumors of a 1/2 scale double rifle chambered in .22 Velo Dog centerfire, but I have never seen it.  From the personal miniature collections of Joel Morrow & Ted Campbell.  Stock # MC-108.  !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
