Project Description
This is a Wonderful Ron DeWalt waterfowl hunting diorama display! The centerpiece is a 1/3 scale Stevens break open single shot .410 shotgun. The shotgun is 14 5/8″ long overall with a 9 1/16″ round smoothbore barrel of .170 caliber. The barrel, opening lever, hammer, triggerguard, & trigger are blued steel. The receiver, forearm metal, & buttplate are yellow brass. The front sight, pins, & screws are steel finished in the white. Serrated hammer spur & buttplate. Two piece walnut stocks with an oil finish. Functional extractor. The hammer has both half & full cock. A beautiful piece! Includes a walnut display stand.
Accompanying the rifle are a beautifully detailed hand made wood skiff hunting boat with two oars, a walnut cartridge block with five dummy .410 shotgun shells with brass heads & yellow paper cases, (These are for display only & will not fit the shotgun.), a hunting dog, three duck decoys, a flying greenhead duck, some rocks & some cattails. All mounted on an artificial green grass covered board, & covered against dust & unwanted fingers by a clear Lucite cover. Also included is a letter from Rob Palicki, an old time miniature collector, to Ralph Koebbeman. Ralph bought the diorama from Rob. And a crude sketch of how to set up the diorama.
Truly a museum quality display & certain to be the centerpiece of any hunting lodge, gun room, man cave, or den!
